I realized I had a heart for mission work after I took my first trip to New Orleans in 2008. I then went on to serve in Rwanda, Africa, and Calcutta and Darjeeling, India. However, the land that captured my heart full-time has been Haiti. I have traveled to Haiti approximately a dozen times since 2011 and am still standing along side young people I met on my first trip.
Most of my Haitian experiences have revolved around the youth. The small children hug and laugh unabashedly. While building relationships with older children and teens takes time, familiarity and trust, once those building blocks are in place the relationships become so life-giving. Over the years I’ve been blessed to build relationships with the teens we support and I can’t imagine not having them in my life. I’m encouraged by their texts and prayers almost daily.
My husband, Damon, and I live in Golden, Colorado where I’m a full-time Freelance Apparel Designer. We consider the teens in Haiti our extended family.
I am responsible for all of the bookkeeping, mailings and communications stateside. I also try to go to Haiti when the doors open. I’m here for you anytime, to answer questions and relay messages to Haiti.
