YES! Board and Staff Donation to People in Our Neighborhood Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world. It is an imperished country where insecurity, poverty, and hunger continue to grow. These problems are very deep and complicated. It is not something simple, and it will take time for Haitians to find solutions to all of these challenges.
Two weeks ago, our YES! staff in Haiti visited people in our neighborhood and distributed food kits along with other essential items such as toilet paper and basic supplies. We also gave a small amount of money to each person. Some of the people we served are living with disabilities and told us they do not have proper housing or a place to cook. This shows how serious and difficult their situation truly is.

We prepared about 38 kits for the people. Unfortunately, more people came than we expected, and we were not able to serve everyone with kits. In those cases, we gave cash assistance instead.
Overall, it was a very good activity, but also a sad one. Almost everyone told us the same thing: "You are the only group helping us right now since the country has become the way it is today." Some even said that we are special.
